The Role

The primary objective of a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is to translate business requirements and existing system processes into detailed system analysis documents that provide required input to engineering to design and build software capabilities part of CCC Subrogation team.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translates high level business requirements and existing system processes into functional specifications, using user stories, UML diagrams, data dictionaries, etc., for the development team and manages changes to such specifications
  • Analyzes existing and new processes to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate and optimize processes and functions
  • Creates customer and internal facing specifications, user stories, workflow diagrams, test scripts, supporting materials, and other related documentation
  • Prepares logical data models with diagrams and supporting documents showing the business elements, detailed definitions, and descriptions of the relationships between the data elements
  • Help coordinates User Acceptance Testing with customer stakeholders
  • Help validate system test cases as needed for new products and production fixes
  • Be able to communicate with both business and engineering to convey features, processes, rules, and data models.
  • Assists in the business process redesign and documentation, as applicable, for new and existing technologies.


 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field
  • 5-8+ years of relevant systems analyst and/or business analysis experience in a custom software development environment
  • Understands technology trends in the industry and uses this knowledge to develop innovation solutions to enhance CCC’s competitive edge
  • Excellent written communication skills - documentation, presentations, and flowcharts Excellent verbal communication skills - communicate w/business partners, internal audiences, technical analysts, developers, & other cross functional staff
  • Expertise in business requirements authoring/management, User Story Authoring, Workflow Diagramming (Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, etc.), Data Analysis, Data Modeling, Data Mapping, Data Dictionary Authoring, Basic Project Planning and Management
  • Working knowledge of git based version control system such as github or gitlab, confluence, draw.io or equivalent diagraming tools, and office products.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL to be able to extract and analyze data as needed
  • Knowledge of python, nodejs, or similar programming language to be able to read code, configurations, and mapping

 

Knowledge of the following:

  • Agile Software development life cycle.
  • Software and database fundamentals.
  • Insurance claim lifecycle and related processes.
  • Ability to write code to conduct analysis and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud computing preferable AWS.
