Job Description

This position will work alongside our existing IT team primarily on the implementation and support of hardware, software and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 4 years of related IT experience and a willingness to gain advanced learning in IT infrastructure and support. As the Company grows, this person should have a strong desire to grow with the company.

Junior System Admin Responsibilities:

 

Technology Operations: Handle day-to-day technology operations by completing support tasks for hardware and software issues, addressing Service Desk escalations, and providing systems support.

 

Server/Network Management: Install, maintain, monitor, and configure server and network hardware.

 

Technical Support: Answer technology questions, complete administrative tasks, and assist other departments with technology training.

 

Software Management: Assist in software patch releases, updates and rollouts.

 

Technology Evaluation: Evaluate new technology, software, and systems by developing criteria, performing evaluations, and documenting results.

 

On-Call Support: Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.

 

Team Growth: As the position grows, act as a point of escalation and assist in training for team growth and future expansion.

Requirements

Junior System Admin Requirements:

 

A 2-4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar experience/certification.

 

3-4 years of experience in IT Support.

 

Exceptional ability to provide technical support and resolve queries.

 

Knowledge of advanced computer hardware, including servers, SANs, switches, routers, and firewalls.

 

Proficiency and troubleshooting knowledge with the following software and systems:

Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019+, Microsoft SQL 2019+

Microsoft 365, Exchange, Sharepoint, Active Directory, Entra, Azure and VMware

Enterprise backup and DR solutions

Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, MFA and Group Policy

Security best practices, compliance standards and remediation steps

Basic networking concepts and protocols.

Basic Powershell scripting proficiency desired

Experience in supporting of ERP and EDI systems and software desired.

 

Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.

 

Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends.

 

This is an on-site position and may require work outside regular business hours
